The Online Family Shelter is a website maintained by the Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters.
The Federation of Mother and Child Homes and Shelters is a national child welfare organization. It aims to safeguard a child's right to a favourable growing environment and safe development, to support parenting and families, and to prevent domestic violence.
The Online Family Shelter focuses particularly on the position of children and youth in the families. Violence should not be part of a child's growing environment.
There are 2000 to 4000 visitors to the Online Shelter monthly.

The Online Shelter is funded by Finland's Slot Machine Association and private donations. In 2009 the Online Shelter is supported by Monster Oy. The Online Shelter is part of the www.apua.info portal and was founded in 2001 with financial support form the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
All pictures have been obtained from internet image banks. Drawings in the top header of the navigation item ‘Children' were made by Salla Savolainen. Illustration of the ‘Fighting at home' in the navigation item ‘Children' has been produced by Mandala Oy.
